Centralized Systems

Wholesalers with multiple agencies face unique challenges for the efficient handling of AR data and EDI Invoice data. Computac’s Centralized Systems provide integrated and complete solutions.

  • The Central Billing System meets all the requirements for handling AR Data for multiple agencies. AR data files can be created on a remote site, transmitted to the central site, and then merged into the data files of the central system.

  • The Centralized EDI system presents streamlined solutions for managing EDI files from multiple sites. Data can be screened for problems such as duplicates or internal inconsistencies. Tools are provided to correct such problems on the fly. A built-in database provides a dynamic archive which allows data to be re-extracted and re-sent if necessary.

Distribution Allocation by Depot (DAD)

This system allows remote depots (remote warehouses where third-party product is shipped) to be managed just as though they were on the Wholesaler’s main information system. The titles that are received at the remote location are tracked, managed and controlled just as though they were received and distributed from the wholesaler’s main warehouse.

  • Up to eighteen different Depots can be established on the system

  • Titles can be flagged selectively as DAD titles

  • Retail Customers can be linked to a selected depot
  • Each Depot can be assigned its portion of the total allocation of the title

Document Retrieval

Document Retrieval has become such an indispensable tool of Periodical Distribution Industry that Wholesalers throughout the U.S. and Canada wonder how they ever got by without it. This historical archive can retain any system document and store it in a magnetic media (tape or disk). There is instant access to both current and historical documents. Invoices, Statements and every other type of document can be accessed online, viewed and/or printed. This electronic archive provides instant problem resolution for both customer inquiries and internal inquiries.

Product Sales Rebate System

The timely management of rebates can be an important element in good customer relations. The Product Sales Rebate System makes it easy to manage this important task. The system computes Rebate data for retail customers automatically on a quarterly basis. Rebates can be reflected on the Customer's Accounts Receivable Statement or handled through Accounts Payable by issuing checks.

  • A Rebate Report allows rebate information to be reviewed in advance for accuracy

  • The Product Rebate Sales file is updated automatically, providing a permanent record of the agency's rebate activity

Publisher Allowance Subsystem

This system generates extra revenues for servicing customers at remote locations by taking advantage of transportation/reship allowances provided by some Source Publishers. Such credit is usually issued by unit weight or by a rate per hundred copies. The Publisher Allowance Subsystem tracks all titles for which such credit can be received and produces a report to submit as a claim to the publisher. The wholesaler can turn those hard-to-service accounts into solid money makers.

Supplier Charge Back System

This subsystem has been a success from the beginning, generating revenues for the wholesaler for the efficient distribution/return of the product. These revenues are issued from Source Publishers who give credit for the costs accrued in one or more of the following areas: Distribution Costs, Return Handling Costs, Excessive Returns, Service Charges and Sell-Thru Incentives. The system tracks all titles for which such credit can be received. It computes credit according to the type of allowance given. For example, if the source publisher provides a sell-thru incentive, the system can record the assigned percentages and discounts for the incentive and compute the credit due from the net sale of the product. When it comes to the bottom line, this system makes a difference.

Title Sales History

With the Title Sales History module, you can create and maintain a complete title sales database with unparalleled ease. A database can be built for a single agency or for multiple agencies. The unique "Drill-Down" approach allows title sales information for magazines and books to be reviewed and analyzed on many different levels: the Chain Level, the Title Level, the Customer Level, and the Wholesaler Level. The system automatically computes Accounts Receivable information from the Invoice/Return data which is received from the wholesaler. Data mining has never been so easy.
